High School Drama/Chorus Department

The High School Drama/Chorus Department provides an outlet for students to use their God-given talents through music and drama. Students will experience many different styles of music and drama, both Christian and secular. The desired outcome is to teach and encourage students to become the best performers, whether through music or drama, all for the glory of God. The curriculum is challenging and we will encourage them to be dedicated while demanding excellence. Musical knowledge of expressions and the mechanics behind the technique of proper singing will be taught to enhance musicianship and performance. The students are also given the opportunity to learn how to appreciate the various drama forms and all the work that goes on behind and in front of the curtain. Students gain valuable experience in producing their own drama/music productions, which are presented to audiences throughout the school year. Students will develop the skills that will enable them to be versatile, competent, and confident in their knowledge of a wide spectrum of music/drama and will be given the opportunity to attend educational workshops.

The Drama/Chorus Department at FACS offers many opportunities for students to showcase their talents which are all centered on Jesus. In the spring we incorporate music and drama by performing a Broadway musical. There are other opportunities for students such as singing the National Anthem at football games, singing Christmas carols at the hospital and doing short skits for various school assemblies. We end our school year by singing a song chosen by our seniors at their graduation.
